A super common question about credit card applications is what income should you be putting down when asked. Does overtime count? What about the bonus? What about your side hustle?
How does the credit card company know what my income actually is? Can they check? Do they bother verifying it? How CAN they verify it - are there databases where my income can be checked?
What happens if you lie about your income? Can you improve your chances of being accepted for a credit card if you inflate your salary?
All of these questions get answered in this video - hope you find it useful!

In Greece they ask for your tax statement, I guess you can lie on the tax statement but you will pay a lot more tax to get less of a credit limit than the extra tax you paid.

can you add the income that does not go into the hmrc payroll system? I work 20 hrs part-time which shows in the payroll and also work more hours but that is not included in the payroll, can I add this to my salary as well?

Some of this information is inaccurate/wrong. Bonus/over time is not accepted and should not be included. For Self employed people it’s very hard to get an electronic verification of income which often means we want tax returns. At least for the company I work for you won’t get declined for wrong income we’ll just ask for proof and re score the application with the right income

Once again another fantastic and informative video. I recently applied for Barclaycard and they had to verify my salary. I had to submit online my bank statements. Fortunately for me, I had the paper statements

If for example you own a buisness and you can only input your projected income should you put a higher projected income or a more conservative projected income even if you think you could achieve the higher income
